Summerfest - Day 2 Recap

The morning at the Summerfest kicked off with the 14u boys coached by Danny DePalma with a win over NB 14u, 74-61. They followed up that win with a sizeable win against the Scotia Sting 13u and wrapped up their day with against the NFLD 14u 75-55. This sets up a rubber match against the Scotia at 8:30am Sunday morning, the summer series is tied a 1-1 with the Sting winning the last meeting.

The 15u boys development team had another solid day with a big win against Western Valley Attack and won with the final score 89-17. They will play for the Men's Development championship at 1:45pm vs. Scotia Sting.

The 16u development coached by Devon Norris competed in two hard fought games today coming out on the short end both times. Their first game came down to an exciting finish when they had a shot at the buzzer to try and tie but it fell short. They just finished up their second game losing to ICE Academy 78-60. They will play their third and final game tomorrow at 8:30am.

The 18u boys open their Saturday against Surf City, a team made up of CIS and ex-Mill Rat players. The boys played tough but ran out of steam late in the game, eventually losing 113-79. They bounced back with a come from win against the Tommies the final score 86-80. Some big plays down the stretch lead to an exciting finish and a solid team win.

The 17u girls continue to roll with two more solid wins today against the 18u team 72-59 and then they picked up a new game against a university players and won that game 68-48. They will wrap up their Summerfest tournament tomorrow vs. PEI 17u at 10:15am.

The 18u girls will look for their first win in the tournament as they take on the 17u NB girls at 10:15am.

In the Women's Competitive division saw the 16u girls coached by Janet Happell with a 57-53 win over the Eastside wolves. These two teams are no strangers to playing each other and it proved to be a great game start to finish. The 16u girls will wrap up their tournament tomorrow at 12:00pm.

The 15u Development girls team coached by Keith Andrews went 1-1 today losing their first one 72-43 to the NB 15u girls and then bouncing back for a narrow 2 point 58-56 win against the Cyclones, a team out of Sussex. Their tournament wraps up when they play at 12:00pm.
