Nationals 2014 - Day 2

Coach Darrell McLellan during a timeout vs. Sask
The dust from the preliminary rounds has settled after Day 2 of competition here in Edmonton and the quarter finals matchups are set for the 4 Nova Scotia teams.

the 15u girls rounded out their pool play with a loss to Saskatchewan and now they will face BC at 1:30pm in the 4 vs. 5 playoff matchup.

The 15u boys clinched the 5th seed heading into the playoff round with a convincing 80-55 win over Saskatchewan. This sets up a meeting with the host Alberta in the quarter finals also at 1:30pm.

The 17u girls had a quality win today against a very good Quebec team to finish 5th heading into the playoff round. The game against Quebec was a back and forth battle and a late surge and hot shooting by NS proved to be the difference leading to a 75-59 win. The girls take on Alberta in another 1:30pm quarter final.

Finally, the 17u boys finished off their pool play with a 3 point win against PEI 71-68. They too finish 5th and will play Quebec at, you guessed it, 1:30pm tomorrow afternoon.

In the Western Championship, the 16u Boys defeated the Yukon handily today and will hit the floor tomorrow morning at 9:00am vs. Alberta.
