Playoffs

Always an exciting time in any sport is playoffs...win or out of a medal opportunity. The intensity of the games pickup, each possession matters that much more and players define themselves. That is where we find ourselves today...in a quarterfinal matchup with a chance to move on to play Alberta to reach the Gold medal game at the National Tournament. There isn't much more exciting about that, and players do not get this opportunity very often in their careers.

We kept a very similar routine this morning getting up and making it to breakfast around 8:30am and then down to the gym for an 11:30am shoot time. In the 45 minutes session we shots up and reviewed some different concepts to prepare us to tonight's matchup vs. Newfoundland. They are a team which plays very hard and have a couple of great guards that can make shots from 3. We have a challenge ahead of us to contain them in the half court and execute in the on offensive end to lead into our pressure defense.

The guys seem rested and focused for the challenge ahead. The demeanor all week has been great and focused on getting the job done. Tip off is at 8:15pm for a chance to play for a medal representing our province.
