Travis Adams was the player of the game with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals to help put his team through to the Semi finals Friday night vs. Alberta.
The game started off slow for the Scotia boys with most the problems coming on the offensive side. Once we were able to get a few buckets and establish our full court pressure we became too much for Newfoundland to handle. The first quarter ended with a double digit lead we never looked back from there.
It was another collective effort, contribution from everyone to pull together solid team win. Earlier in the day Alberta beat Manitoba in come from behind fashion to secure their spot in the semi finals. The other side will feature a BC vs. Ontario semi final.
Anticipation is starting to built and a definite buzz around the tournament is escalating as the final matches are in our ahead of us. Alberta features a high octane offensive attack filled with talented guards and big men. It will be another test for our defense as it will be crucial to control Alberta's transition game and not allow them easy buckets.
Tomorrows schedule includes a practice time at 9:15am before the tip off at 6:00pm.
Thanks to all the parents and fans who have come out to support us and to all the proud Nova Scotians who have sent their wishes along as their boys seek the coveted gold medal.
