Axemen to the Island

This weekend the Acadia Axemen head to PEI to take on the UPEI panthers for a two game set beginning on Saturday evening. Both teams currently sit atop the AUS with 8 points along with St. FX and UNB. The Axemen are back to full strength with Anthony Sears close to 100 percent and Sean Stoqua joining the team after winning an AUS championship with the Axemen football team. Axemen fans should look for Stoqua to make an immediate impact for the team at the point guard position. A highly touted recruit out of Ottawa, Stoqua has demonstrated his ability to handle the basketball, score in the half court and defend at a high level. The axemen will hit the road at 9:30am on Saturday morning with a chance to secure top spot in the AUS heading into the break.
