BNS 17U 99 Terriroties 37

Our first game of the tournament went according to plan. The boys came out focused and took care of business early against the Territories. The defensive pressure proved to be too much for the Territories as we jumped out to a big 36-16 lead after the first quarter.

Jayden Nordin lead the charge with 12 first half points, finishing with a team high 16. Lorenzo Parker, AJ Simmonds and Davonte Provo each added 12. The game was a little bit choppy with 73 combined turnovers. A point of emphasis this week has been traveling violations and was the cause of the high number of turnovers. This will be something that we will have to clean up and be much sharper with as we progress through the tournament.

A big task is now ahead of us when we tip off tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm against Quebec the number 1 ranked ream coming into the tournament. We are going to have be play hard, solid basketball on the defensive end, and execute at a very high level on the offensive side. We are looking forward to the challenge and making some noise tomorrow!
