The Random Show

  • We can trust the process but we have to attack the day. Panic over today but don't panic about today. This is an important concept to understand.
  • Practice isn't over until you have talked to everyone who had a bad day. Non-stop communication is paramount. Need to talk all the time.
  • Who do you look to when you need to get things done?
  • Standards vs. Reference points
    • Stands are rigid (fixed) while Reference Points are flexible (growth).
  • Don't take it easy on people who are losing and not pushing back.
  • Players have to own their own confidence. It can be a teammate, a coach or at worst a player on the other team.
  • Culture has to be right for you to have a chance. You might lose with it, but you aint winning without it.
  • Will this make us better? Is this making us better? coaches often ask these questions, do the players ask these questions enough?
  • Conflict is NOT the enemy of Collaboration
  • Team building idea: Hero, Highlight & Hardship.
  • Meaning of life is meaning and that's why making mistakes and growing is so exciting because it leads to fulfillment.
  • Alignment and Influence is what leaders are tasked to do. Leave leaders in their wake.
  • "Think Evolution not Revolution."
  • We remember two things:
    • The Peak
    • The End
  • "I don't know what to say right now, but I'm so glad you told me." - Brene Brown.
